YOU’RE NOT ALONE
Many Muslims feel the same confusion, demotivation and disillusionment — and for some, these feelings are so paralysing that it leads to procrastination and inaction. But here’s why that’s not your fault:
- The da’wah field looks scary. You’re afraid of being judged for sharing the truth and are anxious about being caught and humiliated by a competitor. The fear of being falsely labelled, losing your reputation and living with it for the rest of your life deters you from even getting started.
- Everything, from atheism, evolution, gender issues, modernity and western liberal values to the rise in Islamophobia, disheartens and overwhelms you. You worry that you won’t be able to tackle these challenging issues and are left feeling hopeless about how you’ll ever climb this colossal mountain in front of you.

LET’S CHANGE THE NARRATIVE
VICTORY WON’T COME WITHOUT TESTS
Tests encourage you to step up, prove you’re worthy and earn a station closer to Allāh ﷻ in paradise that you wouldn’t have achieved had you not gone through this test.
When you genuinely believe this, even one of the worst things that can happen (death) doesn’t prevent you in making your vision a reality.
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُم مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلِكُم ۖ مَّسَّتْهُمُ ٱلْبَأْسَآءُ وَٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلْزِلُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ مَتَىٰ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ نَصْرَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌۭ
“DO YOU SUPPOSE THAT YOU WILL ENTER THE GARDEN WITHOUT FIRST HAVING SUFFERED LIKE THOSE BEFORE YOU? THEY WERE AFFLICTED BY MISFORTUNE AND HARDSHIP, AND THEY WERE SO SHAKEN THAT EVEN [THEIR] MESSENGER AND THE BELIEVERS WITH HIM CRIED, ‘WHEN WILL GOD’S HELP ARRIVE?’ TRULY, GOD’S HELP IS NEAR.”
[THE QUR’ĀN: 2:214]
The prophets, companions and countless other Muslim leaders went through tests; this was a way for Allāh ﷻ to distinguish the ones who truly believed from the rest.

Imagine the immeasurable rewards of sadaqah jāriyah.
Imagine Allāh loving and praising you, as He says:
وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًۭا مِّمَّن دَعَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
AND WHO IS BETTER IN SPEECH THAN ONE WHO INVITES TO ALLAH AND DOES RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SAYS, “INDEED, I AM OF THE MUSLIMS.”

YOUR GUIDES ON THE JOURNEY
The instructors at this retreat are leaders in the field of da’wah, activism and professional capacities.
They have professional, academic and scholarly qualifications, and decades of experience in the public and private sector. They also have a track record of developing teams and organisations, successfully implementing their vision and strategy, and extensive experience in developing leaders, both at home and globally, that have significantly impacted the da’wah and social spheres.
SHAYKH DR. HAITHAM
Shaykh Dr Haitham al-Haddad is a jurist and UK-based Scholar who currently serves as the Chair of the Fatwa Committee for The Islamic Council of Europe. He has studied Islamic sciences for over 20 years under the tutelage of renowned scholars. He obtained his doctorate on the jurisprudence of Muslim Minorities from SOAS, University of London. He specialises in many of the Islamic sciences and, together with his academic background, has an ocean of experience in helping people use Islamic principles as solutions for their everyday and professional lives. He has over the course of the past decade dealt with several hundred cases.
Shaykh Dr Haitham has over a decade of experience in the public and private sector with a specialism in management and leadership. He set-up and initiated various global initiatives and currently advises and supports myriad of teams and organisations,
DR. SALMAN BUTT
Salman studied Biochemistry at Imperial College London followed by a PhD in Chemical Biology, carrying out research into photosynthesis.
During his years at university he became involved in Islamic society da’wah and activism, and general Muslim community projects. He is the Chief Editor and a regular contributor at Islam21c, and also has a blog on the Huffington Post.
HAMZA ANDREAS TZORTZIS
Hamza Andreas Tzortzis is the founder and CEO of Sapience Institute. He is the author of the best-selling book: “The Divine Reality: God, Islam and The Mirage of Atheism”, which has been translated into over 10 languages. He has an MRes, MA and a PgCert in Philosophy from the University of London. He is currently pursuing his PhD on the Qur’ān and its verses pertaining to nature. He has studied Islamic Thought and Theology under qualified scholars.
Hamza has a professional background in project and programme management, charity governance and operations, and has worked as a consultant for the public and private sector. He was the CEO of iERA from April 2017 until February 2020, where he and his team developed sector-leading robust systems, processes and procedures. He grew the organisation by over 500%, with an international operational growth of over 1000%.
